04 · FAQ
What you'll want to know.
Does it modify my Anki collection?
No. We use the official AnkiDroid API to read your cards and write back Again, Hard, Good or Easy results, exactly as if you had tapped them yourself. Cards, note types, deck options and your AnkiWeb sync stay untouched.
What if the AI grades me wrong?
Say "mark correct" or "mark wrong" and the result is overwritten. If manual overrides go above 10% the product is broken. It's a metric we monitor.
Does this mess up my review schedule?
No. The session result enters AnkiDroid as a normal review, and your scheduler (the same one you use in Anki) processes it just like any other. Your review schedule stays intact.
Where does my audio travel?
Directly from your phone to Gemini. Our backend only issues a temporary key for the session. No audio is stored. You can audit it: traffic never hits our server.
Does it work offline?
No. The tutor is an online model. If you lose signal mid-session, the session pauses and resumes automatically when connection returns. Everything you answered is saved.
iOS?
Not yet. The AnkiDroid integration is Android-only (AnkiMobile on iOS doesn't allow this integration). iOS comes after we validate the product.
Can I use it while driving?
No. Not in any situation. We will never promote it for car, motorcycle or bicycle. The use case is walking, cooking, washing dishes, gym. Places where a second of attention isn't fatal.
Why do I pay if I'm bringing the API?
You're not bringing it. The $5 subscription includes the sessions, we pay the Gemini consumption. That's why there's a daily cap: without it, the API cost would exceed the price.
